Jam Tart’s – New Designer Scheme

Passionate about design! - Jam Tart are looking to promote a graduate or designer at this years Top Drawer Autumn 2010 show.

The selected designer will have a collection of their designs produced and manufactured by the company for exhibition at this years show at Olympia in September and receive royalties on all products sold with their designs on.

Jam tart’s ‘New Designer Scheme’ aims to promote up and coming designers and raise awareness of the difficulties faced by graduates and new designers in such a diverse and competitive marketplace.

As a well known and established design company Jam Tart will offer support and guidance as well as exposure via this major London show. Furthermore the successful candidate will gain a valuable insight into the British ceramic and textile industry.

This is a unique opportunity for exceptional and creative individuals wishing to launch themselves into today’s world of design.

Senior Designer
Cardmix is a small, fun and dynamic greeting card publisher based in Watford, Hertfordshire.
We are looking for a full-time senior designer/artworker with extensive experience within the card industry, who is innovative, enthusiastic and commercially aware.
Fluency in Photoshop, In Design and Illustrator are essential for this role in order to take a brief and see it through from concept to production. Tasks involved: to manipulate, re-size & re-colour existing artworks, to create and develop in-house ideas/artworks, to search for and collate imagery to brief, as well as to artwork and colour correct files.

The ability to respond to deadlines, to work both alone or as part of a team are also key.

The salary is circa £40K dependent upon experience.

Home CAD Designer

The Purpose
Reporting to the Studio Manager the successful candidate will design and manipulate Wallart for our Home business that are commercially viable across our global markets in response to specific design & colour brief.

 To manipulate, re-size & re-colour existing artworks on CAD
 To produce CAD artwork within the time allocated by the brief & in line with the critical path
 Image searches & uploading and collating of imagery to brief
 Mock up and creation of graphics, packaging & roomsets
 Create story/mood boards for all new collections to show brand development & design/colour direction
 To produce original artworks from design concept / mood boards.
 Presentations will be the norm, as is some travelling.

The Person
 PC literacy and knowledge of Adobe photoshop , Illustrator & AVA software is essential for this role
 The successful candidate will be able to demonstrate excellent drawing skills.
 You will have an acute sense of colour, the ability to mix and balance colours.
 The candidate will be self-motivated, detailed, creative and passionate about their work.
 Team worker but also ability to work alone
 They will have the ability to communicate ideas and design concepts to broader groups across the business
 You will possess the ability to develop ideas and produce creative solutions.

The Conditions
 The salary is circa £21K to £26K dependent upon experience

Senior Designer
We are seeking a senior designer with extensive experience creating art for consumer products. Someone who would love to work on a wide range of stationery and home office products including cards, journals, notebooks and desktop accessories for our Greenroom brand of recycled paper products.


This position involves working with patterns and colors to build compelling design collections for national retailers. You must have a great eye for color, be an expert in Adobe CS, and have a thorough knowledge of production. Illustration abilities, surface, product and traditional graphic design are all key skills used in this position.
